Would finding life on Enceladus a moon of Saturn turn science and more importantly religion on its head? I often ponder such things in the small hours of the night when I can't sleep. A revelation of such magnitude is decades away as there is no planned mission yet! Data is still required and more will be collected in the coming years by the Cassini Solstice Mission. NASA may have to choose whether a mission the Enceladus is viable. Currently NASA is focusing on the data collection of this mission and rightly so. Enceladus has strange plumes and electrical dischargees around the south poll region of the moon which has scientist believing there is an ocean. Coupling this with the heat of the moon also being there a mission is a must. We already know that microorganisms can survive in space. But if NASA does decide on a mission, what if, could be, we've found life.
